چکیده
Two naphthalene-diimide (NDI) bis-imidazolium salts have been used as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors for the preparation of NDI-functionalized complexes rhodium and iridium general formula [MCl(NDI-NHC)(COD)] (M=Rh, Ir; NDI-NHC=NDI-functionalized NHC ligand). Comparison IR spectra [IrCl(NDI-NHC)(CO)2] their related one- two-electron reduced forms, reveal that each one-electron reduction produces a decrease average ν(CO) 9–10 cm−1, indicating significant enhancement electron-richness metal. The were tested in catalytic cycloisomerization alkynoic acids. forms showed greatly enhanced activities. For cyclization 5-hexynoic acid, ligand produced further activity, therefore showing catalyst can switch between three redox species with distinct

Copper N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes as carbene transfer reagents.
A method is described that makes use of easily prepared, inexpensive copper synthons as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) transfer agents to generate catalytically relevant gold and palladium complexes.

Lithium(I) and uranium(VI) amido-tethered Bu(t)-substituted N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes exhibit very distorted metal-carbene bonds; the corresponding magnesium(II) and mesityl-substituted NHC uranium(VI) complexes are undistorted; the distortion does not affect the ligand binding strength, suggesting a dominance of electrostatic character in closed-shell electropositive metal-carbene...
متن کاملDecarboxylation of aromatic carboxylic acids by gold(I)-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes.
A recently isolated gold(I) complex, [Au(IPr)(OH)], permits the transformation of carboxylic acids to the corresponding decarboxylated gold(I)-aryl complex without the use of silver co-catalyst under mild reaction conditions.
متن کاملCycloisomerization of dienes and enynes catalysed by a modified ruthenium carbene species.
Cycloisomerization is a totally atom economic procedure which converts dienes and enynes into cyclic molecules. Modification of Grubbs' 2nd generation catalysts by reaction with dimethylformamide provides a new species able to catalyse this transformation. Selection of suitable conditions allowed high yields and selectivity. Studies performed in order to identify the catalytic species point to ...
